Our Physiotherapists can treat all these symptoms, and often reduce a symptoms significantly within one to two appointments.

What are common causes of shin splints?

  • Poor biomechanics, resulting in poor force absorption

  • Reduced strength in the lower half of the body, which can be anywhere from core strength all the way down to the feet

  • Repetitive actions

  • Incorrect footwear

  • Inappropriate training program

How do you treat shin splints?

  • We start by identifying the main factors involved, whether that's strength, movement patterns, training issues or footwear

  • We often use a mix of massage, dry needling, taping, movement therapy and strength programs to overcome these factors, so you can get better for the long term
